The Fusion Thermal Boarmaster 40 TS100 is purpose-built for folks that want uncompromised optical performance we made a few changes that dramatically reduced price without dramatically changing performance. Gone are things like video, photo, and WIFI plus a few other insignificant bells and whistles, but the biggest savings comes from our choice of sensor. In the Boarmaster 40, we use our WAVE17 sensor instead of the more expensive WAVE12. Thermal scopes with 17-micron sensors are sometimes viewed as obsolete technology and this is unfortunate as it’s not true. The 17-micron sensor is the backbone of the industry and is produced in huge quantities, therefore they are more affordable. Their only disadvantage is they require larger optical systems to produce great images. Thus, using a 17-micron sensor in a compact scope may result in a slightly lower optical magnification and a shorter identification distance, but that’s about it. This creates a huge buying bargain for a guy who does his homework and understands the value of proven technology. You might have also noticed that we increased our lens size to 40mm as compared to most of our competitors who are stuck on 35. This was done specifically to boost overall performance back up to 12-micron levels. Plus, our Boarmaster 40 uses the Fusion Thermal WAVE17 sensor, so it delivers performance way above its class. To top it all off the sensor is teamed up with our Arclight Ultra HD Germanium Lens so you’re getting the full potential from the entire system.
