The entire attachment is accomplished in a few seconds. The adapter slides back over approximately 1.5” of your scopes objective lens so there is lots of surface area to create a tight hold. The inside of the adapter has a special lining to create gripping power and assures a harmless attachment. To buy the right Rusan Adapter you will need to measure the outside diameter of your objective lens at its end, in millimeters. You then select from the choices available. Note: It is not the scopes objective lens size that determines the Rusan Adapter you'll need, its the outside diameter of the scope housing. Taking a get a good measurement is critical so use calipers. Take the measurement you obtain in millimeters and then round to the nearest whole number, for example a 56.2mm would use a 56mm Rusan Adapter. The adapter does have adjustment flexibility and you may find it necessary to do an adjustment when you receive your adapter, a wrench is provided for this purpose. A good fit is when the clamp closes completely with only a slight resistance. If you cannot close the lever without aggressive force the adapter is too tight and you must correct it before use. Objective lens damage is possible if the Rusan Adapter is too tight. Important Note: The Rusan Adapter wall is approximately .125” thick so we recommended a space between the bottom of your scope and your barrel be at least .25”. Read Less
